THE HADLEIGH TAG 2017
12th March 2017
Hadleigh Rugby Football Club
Layham Road Sports Ground, Layham Road, Hadleigh, IP7 5NE
On March 12th 2017 Hadleigh Rugby Club will be hosting it’s 4th Annual TAG Festival.
TAG rugby is the starting point for the under 7 and 8 year old's to embark on their rugby career. It is a fun, non-contact game which encourages teamwork, skill, fitness and discipline, and the opportunity to take part in rugby.
Last year The Hadleigh TAG was recognised by the RFU as the largest mini-TAG event in The British Isles. Our aim for 2017 is to stage the largest mini-TAG festival in Europe.
The Hadleigh TAG has grown in stature and popularity. This year we are already looking at welcoming some 400+ players along with an estimated 800-1000+ supporters and spectators.
We have invited all clubs within the Eastern Counties to enter a team to join us. Most of the clubs involved will be within a 40 mile radius from Hadleigh and the event forms a cornerstone of the Eastern Counties Rugby Union’s development plan to promote rugby to the Region.
This year the new ‘Kids First’ festival format will give all players an opportunity to perform and win prizes.
These prizes will be awarded based on their commitment to the RFU’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. We will also be awarding prizes based on “Sideline Culture” and these will be aimed at encouraging all supporters to enjoy their day in a manner fully in keeping with the best traditions of rugby.
The Festival involves an immense amount of planning and preparation. With this in mind, we are asking regional and local businesses (or individuals!) to help support us with donations to help make the day a huge success. We offer businesses and individuals the opportunity to have a presence at the event, to be an integral part of the day and to get regional coverage.
As a donor, we will acknowledge your support and we have several high-profile ways of doing this in the lead up to the event, on the day and thereafter.
The opportunities include:
Any Charitable Donations from Businesses or individuals – whether it’s £50 or £500 - will help us fund the match day and make it a memorable day for hundreds of enthusiastic youngsters! So please get in touch to see how you can make an impact on the future generations of rugby players in the region!
(Please note that we are not seeking traditional “sponsorship” but are instead looking for donations as this provides a more tax efficient option for both Club and Donor.)
